Luis Trápaga y Lizabel Mónica en la primera exposición de la obra. Aglutinador Laboratorio, La Habana, 2010.

DESCRIPTION: Three pieces (acrylic on cardboard) by visual artist Luis Trápaga. The paintings are based on a script and instrucctions from Lizabel Mónica. The pieces establish a dialogue between the comic aesthetics, the political cartoon, and graffiti. Using Karla as their protagonist, the motivation behind these pieces was the unveling of some gender issues that are at the core of the current political rethoric in the island. The work questions language as an ideological and sexualized instrument.

As an expressive resource, the artists sought to provoke laughter and contrariness in the spectator.

The serie was included in an collective exhibit on political art and it was also selected for an exhibition  on the Cuban comic.
